JOHANNESBURG - The ongoing power crisis is forcing businesses and households to invest in backup solar power.
Some large industries have even gone completely off the grid.
According to estimates, the uptake in rooftop solar quadrupled between 2022 and 2023.
But experts warn that relying on sunshine alone is not realistic and that consumers should not completely divorce themselves from the energy grid.
