Rand drops after opinion poll shows ANC support decline
JOHANNESBURG - The Rand plunged today and that’s been attributed to a new election poll.
It shows that expected support for the governing ANC in the polls has dropped further.
And the MK Party backed by former President, Jacob Zuma, may become the country’s third-biggest party.
The Rand fell by more than one and a half percent and it was trading at around R18.76 in the last hour.
This after a poll by the Social Research Foundation suggested the ANC may garner just 37 percent of support in the vote on 29 May.
And the MK Party may get 13 percent.
