In his first presidential address, Chapo pledged to devote all his energies to promote unity and human rights in a nation scarred by post-election violence.

A local civil society group says that more than 300 people have been killed in clashes with security forces since the elections in October.

Zenaida Machado-Ezinteje, who is a senior researcher at Human Rights Watch in Mozambique spoke to eNCA about this matter.
