JOHANNESBURG - Nicole van Aswegen has been the face of female superbike racing in the country for years.
That success has culminated in her selection to take part in the inaugural FIM Women’s Circuit Racing World Championship.
The championship will be held over six rounds at selected European tracks.
Over 40 riders applied to compete in the World WCR and eventually only 24 were selected to take part, including South Africa's very own van Aswegen.
She leaves for Europe on Monday to get involved in the first official test for the ladies on the 17th and 18th of May in Italy.
