CAPE TOWN - Cape Town is awash with colour as minstrel troupes fill the streets of the Mother City.

It's all part of the Tweede Nuwe Jaar parade, which attracts around 100,000 spectators annually.

More than 20,000 performers from 18 minstrel troupes are participating.
