Joshlin Smith case reinforce presence of human trafficking syndicates in SA

JOHANNESBURG - Recent developments in the Joshlin Smith case reinforce the presence of human trafficking syndicates in South Africa.

As the country counts down to 16 days of Activism against Women and Children, we look at how the GBV pandemic is affecting the most vulnerable in society.

South Africa recently sent a delegation to the first-ever Global Ministerial Conference on Ending Violence Against Children in Columbia, and Social Development minister, Sisisi Tolashe, pledged her commitment to this cause.

The social development minister, along with other world leaders, has pledged the country’s commitment to uniting behind a shared vision to deliver an end to all forms of violence against children.

Meanwhile survivors of trafficking like Blessing are still bearing the scars while hoping for justice to prevail.

eNCA producer, Lee McCabe tells the story of a human trafficking survivor and activists fighting the scourge in Part 4 of this special feature called The Other Joshlins.
