JOHANNESBURG - Africa was disconnected on Thursday. It was due to breaks in multiple undersea cables on the west coast of the continent.
Breaks were reported on the WACS, MainOne, SAT3 and ACE lines. Internet connections were slowed down or even stopped from South Africa all the way up to Burkina Faso.
It comes as cable operator Seacom waits for permits to fix its lines in the Red Sea on the east coast.
Prenesh Padayachee, Chief Digital Officer at Seacom had a conversation with the eNCA on this issue.
