JOHANNESBURG - The energy regulator has given government the green light to obtain nuclear energy.

The State hopes the procurement will help the country meet the envisaged demand.

But, critics oppose the move, saying it's too expensive and not appropriate.

Earth Life Africa and the SA Faith Communities Environment Institute also say it won't work.
