The metro has been battling serious governance, infrastructure and service delivery challenges in recent months.
The Working Group is co-chaired by the Director General in the Presidency Phindile Baleni, and ANC KZN veteran Mike Mabuyakhulu.
It includes Provincial and City authorities and Ministers from various portfolios.
Its mandate is to work with the business community and other stakeholders to find solutions to the challenges crippling the metro.
