Driver's licence cards | New printing bidder sets tongues wagging

JOHANNESBURG - The Transport Department has appointed a new service provider to produce new smart driving licence cards.

The department says IDEMIA Identity and Security was among five bidders.

It says it was subject to a thorough and transparent process of evaluation and adjudication.

But Airports Company SA recently terminated a contract with the company, over alleged wrongdoing.
