JOHANNESBURG - Former president Jacob Zuma is not eligible to stand as a candidate for the MK Party in this year's election.
The Constitutional Court delivered its ruling, sighting that because Zuma was convicted of an offence and sentenced to more than 12 months imprisonment, he is not qualified to stand for election until five years have lapsed since the completion of his sentence.
