JOHANNESBURG - The United Nations estimates that more than 113-million people worldwide have been displaced.
This is due to persecution, violence and human rights violations, among other factors. These people are often characterised as refugees or asylum seekers.
South Africa alone hosts around 154-thousand refugees and asylum seekers, primarily from other African countries.
As this week marked World Refugee Day, the United Nations Refugee Agency is highlighting the plight they face. UNHCR Representative for Southern Africa, Monique Ekoko spoke to eNCA.
