JOHANNESBURG - The South African Weather Service has issued a warning for severe thunderstorms and heavy downpours resulting in localised floods.
Parts of the country will also experience damaging winds, hail and excessive lightning.

Affected provinces include Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, Mpumalanga and the eastern half of the Eastern Cape.
Dr Bongani Sithole, Head of the National Disaster Management Centre, says he wants to warn motorists to limit their speed while driving, as well as communities to avoid low-lying bridges that have been flooded or roadways.
