JOHANNESBURG - Unroadworthy vehicles are a significant contributor to the high road death rate.
Outa's findings on alleged fraud in awarding of roadworthiness certificates is raising alarm bells.
It found vehicles failing in Gauteng, get certificates just hours later in Limpopo and the North West.
The findings of the investigation have been handed over to transport authorities.
Simon Zwane from the Road Traffic Management Corporation says they have obtained information regarding fraud happening in privately owned vehicle testing stations from OUTA and they are still analyzing the information received.
