JOHANNESBURG - The Transnet National Ports Authority has received four of seven new tugboats as part of a billion-rand upgrade to its marine fleet.
The tugboats, now stationed at the ports of Durban and East London, feature a 60-ton bollard pull, which will improve the current capacity.
The tugboats will undergo technical tests at Durban’s Drydock before a ceremonial launch. The remaining three tugboats are expected by August.
TNPA chief executive, Phyllis Difeto spoke to eNCA.
