JOHANNESBURG - The Chinese market is expected to expand,and yield growing demand for South African wines.  

Despite a decline in overall demand, exports of Cap Classique to China rose by 4-percent in 2023.

Wine consumption data shows that locally, the industry reached a record high in 2022, with global consumption going down since 2018.
