JOHANNESBURG - Stress levels among South Africans have reached alarming levels, making it increasingly difficult for many to cope with life's demands.
The Ipsos World Mental Health survey encompassing over 23,000 participants across 31 countries, has shed light on the pervasive impact of stress and depression on daily functioning.
Over 70% of South Africans admitted to grappling with stress levels and what's even more troubling is that over half of the respondents reported being so overwhelmed by stress that they could not go to work.
A separate UNICEF report has also revealed that a staggering 60% of young South Africans have sought mental health assistance within the last year alone.
The eNCA spoke to a dietitian, Leigh-Ann Silber on this issue.
