SA's water scarcity and infrastructure challenges

JOHANNESBURG - South Africa is grappling with ongoing challenges related to water scarcity and crumbling infrastructure.

The Water and Sanitation department has issued a reminder, of the urgent need for proactive measures to address the crisis.

Critical maintenance work will be done on the 37-kilometre Lesotho Highlands Water Project tunnel due to begin in October 2024 and is expected to end on 31 March 2025.
