Discussion | SARS interdicted from installing CCTV cameras in cigarette factory

JOHANNESBURG - The Fair-Trade Independent Tobacco Association has obtained an interdict against the South African Revenue Service, ordering it to abandon its plans to install CCTV in cigarette factories.

SARS believes cameras will help stop widespread tax fraud. But tobacco companies argue they would violate their rights to property, dignity, and privacy.

The chairperson of the Fair-trade Independent Tobacco Association, Sinenhlanhla Mnguni spoke to eNCA.
