JOHANNESBURG - Two South African soldiers have been killed and three others wounded in a mortar attack on a base in North Kivu in the DRC.
It comes as South Africa announced the deployment of almost 3,000 troops to Eastern DRC.
They will help the army fight M23 rebels fighting in the area.
Kinshasa accuses Rwanda of backing the rebels, sparking fears of an all out war between the two countries.
