Discussion | SAMIDRC to begin phased DRC withdrawal

JOHANNESBURG - The SADC is ending its peacekeeping mandate in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The decision was taken at a summit of SADC leaders on Thursday.

The withdrawal will be done in phases.

South Africa, Malawi and Tanzania were part of the mission that lost troops during attacks by M23 rebels.

We discuss this with Vasu Gounden from the African Centre for the Constructive Resolution of Disputes.
