JOHANNESBURG - Extortion and kidnappings have been increasing across the country.
Additional police have been deployed to the Eastern Cape to fight the spate of violence and extortion.

This follows Police Minister Senzo Mchunu's visit to the province.
Business owners also claim to be living in fear as the protection mafia has been terrorising communities.
