MUNICH, GERMANY - A South African HIV survey shows encouraging trends in prevalence, prevention and treatment.
It's found that HIV prevalence across all ages decreased from 14 percent in 2017 to 12.7% 2022.

This translates to a slight decline from 7.9 million to 7.8.
However the data shows that females continue to be disproportionately affected by HIV.
Professor Khangelani Zuma was involved in this study and spoke to eNCA from Munich where the international AIDS conference concluded this week.
