JOHANNESBURG - South African cricket has a bright future, if the 2024 U19 Cricket World Cup is anything to go by.
The country's U19 side made it all the way to the semi-finals of the tournament where they lost to runners up India, after a valiant effort.
One of the highlights of the World Cup was 17-year-old Kwena Maphaka's performance, where he finished with figures of 21 wickets in six innings, at an average of 9.71, including an unprecedented three five-wicket hauls.
Maphaka was ably assisted by a couple of his teammates, including Tristan Luus, who took two three-fours in the showpiece.
