JOHANNESBURG - June 12 marks International Nurses Day, aimed at celebrating the contributions nurses make in society.
This year's commemorations are observed under the theme; Our Nurses, Our Future, The economic power of care.

But the Health and Allied Workers Indaba Trade Union, or HAITU say that nurses in the country have nothing to celebrate.
The union's president Rich Sicina spoke to the eNCA on some of the challenges faced by their members.
