JOHANNESBURG - As we observe Human Rights Day, some South Africans say their rights are being violated by lack of access to basic needs such as clean water and electricity.

Maretlwane Village in the North West is one such forgotten community.

Its residents are forced to transport sick people using wheelbarrows, often to poorly maintained healthcare facilities.

Residents say authorities are not keen to help.
