Now, South African streets are no strangers to being turned into film sets.
Marvel's Age of Ultron and The Crown were filmed in parts of Johannesburg and Cape Town.
But, Tukkies heritage and culture expert, Hannes Engelbrecht, says South Africa must get the script right.
He says by telling the stories of yesterday and today through film, SA can attract tourists of tomorrow.
