Discussion | High Court bars Hlophe from JSC activities

JOHANNESBURG - Impeached Judge John Hlophe is barred from taking part in the next Judicial Service Commission meeting.

It follows an application from the Democratic Alliance and some NGOs.

They argued it was irrational for hims to serve on the judicial oversight body.

The JSC interviews judges for vacancies and disciplines members.

It's the same body that found him guilty of gross misconduct while Judge President of the Western Cape.
