JOHANNESBURG - Many South Africans who can't afford medical schemes turn to health insurance.
These are usually cheaper than comprehensive cover.
This is because they have been exempted from regulations of the Medical Schemes Act.
But, those exemptions are set to expire this month, which could drastically increase premiums.
