Discussion | Gauteng could see Day Zero in five years

JOHANNESBURG - In 2021, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change warned of Day Zero in Gauteng in the next 10 years.

Three years down the line and little is being done to mitigate that risk.

In fact, the timeline has shrunk, with warnings the province will run out of water in just five years.

One of the factors is the lack of storage capacity of dams in the province.
