JOHANNESBURG - The US has withdrawn funding for the Just Energy Transition. Many see this as a setback for South Africa's efforts to decarbonise.

In February, the United States informed SA that it had withdrawn from the International Partners Group, formed in 2021 during the COP26 climate summit in Glasgow.   

Energy expert, Professor Vally Padayachee says cold fire power station will start to get decommission, and it will have to be replaced with renewable plus with a set of dispatch of technologies.
