Discussion | Former Tshwane mayor dies aged 52

PRETORIA - Former Tshwane mayor Murunwa Makwarale has unfortunately passed away.

His family says he died in the early hours of Tuesday after a short illness.

Makwarela resigned as mayor after he was found to have submitted a fake, insolvency rehabilitation certificate.

The city was still trying to recoup over 1-point-4-million rand paid to him while he was employed as Speaker.

The eNCA managed to speak to the Makwarale family's spokesperson Doctor Abel Dube.
