JOHANNESBURG - Firefighters in the Western Cape are fighting fierce wildfires in Glencairns and Scarborough.

They are in a battle with strong winds that are causing flare-ups.

The country has also seen heavy rains and flooding, particularly in KZN.

Are these natural disasters merely seasonal or are they an effect of the global climate crisis?
