Discussion | Eskom applied for exemption in December

JOHANNESBURG - Eskom has been given the greenlight to continue operating eight of its coal-fired power stations outside the country’s pollution standards.

Eskom made this application in 2024 to the Department of Forestry, Fisheries, and Environment for an exemption from the minimum emission standards.
