Elon Musk, the South African-born business mogul, is advocating for TikTok to be owned by an American company, while here in South Africa, he’s pushing back against the 30% BEE requirement for his company, Starlink.

With the BEE laws under scrutiny, what does this mean for South Africa’s economy and the ongoing efforts to redress historical imbalances?
