JOHANNESBURG - The successful hosting of the 2024 Comrades Marathon would have one believe that everything related to the world's most popular ultra marathon is without trouble.
The actual event is doing incredibly well, but at administrative level, issues are aplenty.
The Comrades Marathon Association is currently marred by allegations of racism and membership squabbles, with some members taking the Association and KwaZulu-Natal Athletics to court before the sitting of a Special General Meeting last week.
Five CMA board members have since resigned, with chairperson Mqondisi Ngcobo reportedly among them.
