Discussion | City of Cape Town takes on NERSA's price hike

PRETORIA - The ongoing battle over electricity hikes between the City of Cape Town and Nersa is back in court tomorrow. 

The City of Cape town is defending itself after Nersa admonished the Metro over its 17.6% electricity tariff increase.

Nersa told the city that the tariff was unlawful. The municipality, then applied to the North Gauteng High Court to set aside Nersa's decision of a 15.1% tariff increase.

The Good Party is against the City of Cape Town wanting to charge whatever it wants for electricity. The party will hold a picket  outside court on Wednesday.
