JOHANNESBURG - There’s been a call for the accounting profession to be independently regulated in the same way as the auditing sector.
The Independent Regulatory Board for Auditors is believed to have made the call.
Regulation would help the accounting profession avoid pitfalls similar to the Markus Jooste one.
