JOHANNESBURG - In November, the Information Regulator issued an enforcement notice prohibiting the Department of Basic Education from publishing the 2024 matric results in newspapers.
The regulator said doing so would breach the Protection of Personal Information Act.
Stakeholders have since opposed the prohibition, saying publishing the results is in compliance with a 2022 court order in favour of publication.
