JOHANNESBURG - The Gauteng government is under fire following allegations that it spends R34 million rand a month to lease office space in the Johannesburg CBD.
This is despite the provincial government owning several CBD buildings which reportedly stand vacant.
Premier Panyaza Lesufi has called for an independent investigation into the leasing contracts.
Gauteng government spokesperson Vuyo Mhaga says there is a certain method for renovating these offices based on the amount of money.
