PRETORIA- Tuberculous remains one of the silent killers in South Africa.
The World Health Organization says an estimated 56-thousand people died of TB in South Africa last year.
Notably, around 31-thousand of these deaths were among people living with HIV, and 25-thousand among those without HIV.

Globally, there were 1-point-2-5-million TB deaths.
To meet the WHO and UN milestones to end the TB epidemic, priorities include expanded TB prevention, diagnostics, and treatment within Universal Health Coverage.
