JOHANNESBURG - South Africans head to the polls on Wednesday and for the first time since 1994, exit polls suggest the ruling party's share of the vote could fall as low as 40%.
In 2019 the ANC managed a return of 57.5% of the national vote. But the party's support has been declining since it reached the high of 70 percent in 2004.
Major political parties wrapped up their election campaigns with final rallies over the weekend.
