JOHANNESBURG - Marais Erasmus has bid a final farewell to umpiring as he now begins his new chapter ... retirement.

The 60-year-old South African official announced his decision to call time on his career ahead of the recently concluded second Test between New Zealand and Australia.

Erasmus has been an umpire since 2006, overseeing 82 Tests, 124 ODIs, 43 men's T20Is and 18 women's T20Is.

One of his milestones is officiating the 2019 Cricket World Cup final.
