Cost of living | Bleak picture of subsistence farming

JOHANNESBURG - A new study by the Human Sciences Research Council and NGO Tshintsha Amakhaya is painting a bleak picture of the sustainability of rural households. 

It shows that most households are impoverished, despite living and working in areas where food is produced.
