Corruption rife at local government level - report

JOHANNESBURG - Corruption Watch received 546 complaints last year.

While it may be substantially less than the 2000 complaints the previous year,
it's still very worrying.

According to Mzwandile Banjathwa, Campaign Coordinator at Corruption Watch corruption at local government level, again emerged as a key trend.

The country's biggest metros reflected the highest number of corruption reports in this category, accounting for over 50 percent of the incidents.
