JOHANNESBURG - We are still revelling in the incredible news that South African Glenrose Xaba won the Sanlam Cape Town Marathon in a South African Women’s record time.
She’s now the fastest South African woman over 42.2km in history.
Now, for us normal humans who get destroyed by a 5km park run, I want you to understand how far 42.2km is, before I tell you how long it took Glenrose to run it.
Running 42.2km sounds like a pretty random distance. Every other race is like 5km, 10km.
