JOHANNESBURG - Annual consumer price inflation climbed to 3.0% in December , a modest increase from 2.9% in November.
The inflation rate saw a 0.1% rise month-on-month, signaling a steady but slow-paced cost-of-living increase.
The main contributors were housing and utilities, miscellaneous goods and services, food and non-alcoholic beverages, alcoholic beverages and tobacco.

The annual inflation for goods was 1.9% up from 1.6% in November while services was 4.2%, down from 4.3% in November.
The latest print shows that inflation remains well within the Reserve Banks target range.
