Concerns over the state of Pretoria Zoo
JOHANNESBURG - It's been over two years since infrastructure upgrades began at the Pretoria Zoo but instead of seeing the fruits of this investment, the zoo now lies in disrepair.
Over R100-million was set aside for upgrades and maintenance.
Political instability from a volatile coalition government in the City of Tshwane has also had a devastating impact on the project through service delivery failures.
Disgruntled visitors took to social media earlier this month to express their dissatisfaction with the state of the zoo and its offerings.
Nontsikelelo Mpulo, from the South African National Biodiversity Institute, discussed this with eNCA.
