City of Cape Town launches new energy strategy

CAPE TOWN - South Africa's metros are exploring alternative ways to achieve energy security.

This as Eskom implements another round of higher stages of rolling blackouts.

Cape Town Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis launched the city's new energy strategy.

If successful, the city will be able to shield  its residents from the first four stages of outages by 2026.
