Cargo ship runs aground off Cape West Coast

CAPE TOWN - Salvage operations are currently underway to prevent a potential oil spill and the resultant pollution from a grounded general cargo vessel along the West Coast.

The distressed cargo ship, the MV Ultra Galaxy, had gone aground off the coast of Brand se Baai, north of Cape Town. 

The SA Marine Safety Authority says its concentrating its efforts on preventing pollution and salvaging cargo.
